Hello, my name is Betty Burden and I would like to welcome you to the online home of Vom Hognadottir Rottweilers and German Shepherds. Our kennel is located in Pilot Hill, California, approx' 30 miles east of Sacramento. (Pilot Hill is in El Dorado County, in the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade metro area). We have been breeding top quality Rottweilers and German Shepherds with stable temperaments, sound structure and high intelligence for over thirty years. All of our breedings are well thought out with an emphasis towards producing puppies with correct, sound temperaments and good health and longevity that adhere as closely as possible to the official AKC written standard for the Rottweiler and German Shepherd. I am a longtime member of the SV (German Shepherd Dog Club of Germany) and am also a member of the ARV (American Rottweiler Verein) and Schutzhund USA.
 Our dogs are AKC registered (some are dual reg'd with the German SV; FCI) and are OFA, German SV or FCI certified free of hip dysplasia. Most of the dogs in our kennel come from North American and (much sought after) European Show and Working lines. We on occasion travel to Germany ourselves to hand select dogs with complementary bloodlines to incorporate into our breeding program. On our last visit we brought back our beautiful German Shepherd Imports; Isabell Vom Sofienwald SchH III, KKL 1; and Leika De Intercanina. We are very proud to have these girls and to be able to offer such outstanding Imported working lines.
Our dogs are of sound mind, proper breed type, substantial size and bone and have a willing desire to please. Whether you're interested in a puppy for working, showing, or most importantly a loyal and loving family companion you have come to the right place. A Vom Hognadottir Rottweiler or German Shepherd has the potential to do it all!
 We have incorporated what we believe are some of the best stud dogs available into our breeding program. We like males with substance and bone, that exude strength and confidence, have solid headpieces and are well put together. Two of our newest Imported Rottweiler males (Trofim S Berega Turi and Arco Earl Antonius) come from highly respected, top winning kennels in Russia (Berega Turi Rottweilers) and Europe (Earl Antonius Rottweilers). Our girls are our foundation so much time and thought goes into any female we consider for breeding. We like our females to have strength, substance and bone yet still be feminine and easily distinguishable from the males. Only our very best will do! A Vom Hognadottir Rottweiler or German Shepherd makes for a most loyal and loving companion. All puppies are sold under contract with written hip and health guarantees and lifetime breeder support. Stud service is available to approved bitches of merit.
